Accessibility Statement for Rubbish Removal Sutton

Rubbish Removal Sutton is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive online experience for all customers in the Sutton area, including people with disabilities. This Accessibility Statement explains the steps we take to support equal access, the standards we aim to meet, and how you can contact us if you need assistance or would like to request accessibility improvements.

Our commitment to accessibility

We want everyone to be able to find out about our rubbish removal services in Sutton and to use our website without barriers. Our goal is to make our digital content clear, simple and usable for as many people as possible, regardless of technology, situation or ability. We continually review our website design, content and functionality to improve accessibility over time and to support a wide range of assistive technologies.

Compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1, level AA. These guidelines are internationally recognised standards for making web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user friendly for everyone. Our intention is that people in the Sutton area can access information about rubbish collection and waste clearance services without unnecessary obstacles.

While we strive to achieve and maintain WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across our site, there may be areas that are still being improved. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we are committed to reviewing and updating our website regularly.

Screen-reader and assistive technology support

The Rubbish Removal Sutton website is designed to work with common screen readers and other assistive technologies. We structure our content using clear headings, paragraphs and descriptive text so that screen readers can interpret the page in a logical order. Where possible, images that convey important information include descriptive alternative text, and non-text content is kept to a minimum when it is not essential.

We aim to avoid content that flashes or moves excessively, and we work to ensure that important information is available as text so that it can be read, enlarged or presented through speech by assistive tools.

Keyboard navigation

Our website is designed so that most functions can be accessed using a keyboard alone, without relying on a mouse or touch input. Navigation menus, forms and interactive elements are intended to be reachable using the Tab, Shift+Tab and Enter keys. We aim to provide a visible focus indicator so users can see which part of the page is currently selected when they tab through the content.

If you experience any difficulty navigating our site by keyboard, or if a particular button, menu or form field cannot be reached without a mouse, you can contact us using the details below so we can investigate and address the problem.

Text, layout and readability

To support users across Sutton and beyond, we use clear language wherever possible and avoid unnecessary jargon when describing our rubbish removal services. We aim for good colour contrast between text and background to make content easier to read, and we use layouts that respond to different screen sizes, including mobiles and tablets.

Users can zoom in using browser tools, and the page layout is designed to remain usable at higher magnification levels. We avoid relying solely on colour to communicate meaning and use text labels to identify key actions such as booking collections or requesting quotes.

Ongoing improvements and feedback

We recognise that accessibility is not a one-time task but an ongoing commitment to all users in the Sutton community. We are continually looking for ways to improve our website and welcome comments from residents, businesses and visitors who use our rubbish removal information and online features.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, notice content that is difficult to understand, or have suggestions on how we could make accessing our rubbish removal services in Sutton easier, we would like to hear from you.
